If you’ve found this blog, chances are, you own a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H Series Camera. Models in this series include the H1, H2, H3, H5, H7, H9, H10 and H50. One of the most popular digital camera repairs is the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H2 Shutter Button. This part has a high chance of breaking during the lifetime of your digital camera. There is no recall (as of this time, if there is, we’ll be the first to inform you about it!) for this camera series from Sony, and chances are, your shutter button is broken and you are wondering what to do next.
Well first off, DO NOT THROW YOUR CAMERA AWAY! Do not listen to the uninformed sales representatives who tell you your camera is junk, or the salespersons at the “repair” centers, who will charge upwards of $150 to repair your camera. While you are here, go ahead and call Sony, they will charge you $150 for your camera to be repaired as well. Both are unneccessary. In fact, you can repair your H Series shutter button yourself for as little as $20, or have it installed professionally for less than $50! Not only do you get to keep your camera, but you also save over $100!
This blog is designed to help you make an informed decision about whether you should repair your Sony DSC-H series camera (Hint: YES!), the facts about how much it will cost you (including the places you can find the various shutter buttons) and, for each camera, a photo guided instruction manual intended to assist you in installing your shutter button (or if you are uncomfortable with installing the shutter button yourself, resources to help you get your camera fixed for a small amount more!)
Currently we have the instructions for installation for the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H2 Shutter Button, and in the new few weeks we will be updating with the rest of the models.
Thank you for reading our blog, we hope that you will find the information you are looking for to keep your camera in good working order!
